Isn't it great how a kid can make it all an exciting adventure. 4 is a fun age.

I'm glad your nephew is alright now, drag - and that rather than being traumatized he sees it all as a great adventure.

Glad to hear your nephew's okay, drag. That is a scary thing, although it seems more scary for the adults than for him, by the looks of things.
I was that age when it was discovered I was allergic to bee stings. (I stepped on one and my leg swelled up to my thigh.) I wasn't traumatized either. I had fun letting the nuns wheel me around in the hospital, so nobody could find me.

Fire ants are nasty even if you aren't allergic. But that will put a crimp in his running around out back and that is a shame.

Today was movie day. Ix and I went to see Machete (fun!) and Going the Distance (funny, even ix agreed). The viewing of the movies was broken up by some determined shoe shopping due to the fact that I stepped on the back of ix's sandal (something I do a lot) as we were walking into the first movie and I broke the strap off it. So I had to buy him some new sandals and, thanks to it being the start of fall shopping, sandals were in short supply. We went to 6 shoe stores before we found something that fit and was comfortable. It was also the only store that we walked into and the sales people actually noticed that his shoe was broken. It was the very first thing the guy said after greeting us.
After that was over we killed the remaining time at the bookstore. I got a copy of the Handmaid's Tale. The girl at the register informed us that she hated it -- "It was a good book, but it was scary. I hated it." Quick movie reviews: Machete -- Very violent. Plenty of laughing. Lots of boobs. Lots of fun. My brother and his wife went to see it and she hated it because she didn't understand why it was funny. Going the Distance -- Naked people. Lots of laughs. A mild obsession with a lack of baby pigeons in New York City. And I feel it did a fairly good job of conveying what a long distance relationship is like.

I love the review of the Handsmaid's Tale. I may have to tweet that to Margaret Atwood!

I read Handmaid's Tale last year, and she's right. One of the scariest frakking books I've ever read.
